After participating in a survey on the current situation of overseas companies in Suzhou, it was found that many domestic companies have plans to do overseas business, but they have many doubts about overseas strategies, especially issues such as LinkedIn marketing and independent websites. In order to better help Suzhou and surrounding areas for companies that want to do overseas business to solve these problems, the first overseas business salon in Suzhou was held to share session.
2. Conference overview
At this meeting, more than 50 company representatives came to the scene to gather together, from Suzhou and surrounding cities, distributed in medical, new energy, machinery, electronics, chemical industry and other industries.
This conference was based on the direction of overseas business. A total of 5 lecturers and guests shared five chapters on overseas media, independent stations going overseas, foreign trade supply chain, cross-border special subsidy declaration, and cross-border legal taxation.
3. Feedback from participating companies
Feedback 1: Domestic trade is severely involved. Our peers have successfully gone overseas, and we cannot lag behind. An enterprise from the energy storage industry reported: “The involution of domestic trade is indeed serious, profit margins are also declining, and prices are very low. Many peers have successfully done overseas business and are doing very well in foreign trade, so we also want to do overseas business quickly and don’t fall behind.”
Feedback 2: Originally, we did not pay much attention to online and only held overseas exhibitions. We must promote online. An enterprise from Anhui Province reported back: “Our company has always only done foreign trade through foreign trade exhibitions and introductions from traditional old customers. However, in recent years, we have increasingly felt that our stamina is insufficient. Some of the customers we have cooperated with have suddenly disappeared for some unknown reason after attending this meeting today, we also feel that it is time to seize the time to carry out online marketing projects.”
Feedback 3: The effectiveness of the B2B platform has declined seriously, and it is necessary to operate an independent website to reduce risks. A company in tableware industry gave feedback: "We have done a lot of business on the Alibaba platform before and invested millions in it every year. However, the performance has declined seriously in the past three years, but we feel that there is nothing we can do if we don't do it. After listening to it today after sharing, we also feel that we need to use multiple channels to promote customer acquisition. It is too risky to rely on a single platform. Independent websites will be the next projects we must promote."
4. Coffee break communication
